# What is CSV?

• A file that can be used in Excel or Google Spreadsheet, whose name ends in .csv.
• You can create a vocabulary in CSV and send and receive it in the app and on the desktop.

# How to export in-app vocabulary to CSV

1. Press Settings → CSV Export & Import → Export to CSV button in the app.
2. Select the vocabulary you want to export. Vocabulary list are exported in the selected order.
3. If you click the Change Export Settings button, you can make detailed settings for the export method.
4. Click the Export to CSV button to display the system sharing popup.
5. You can select a file or e-mail and send it to yourself or share it with a friend.

# How to create a CSV

Editing in Google Sheets (docs.google.com/spreadsheets), not Excel, will avoid encoding issues.

1. Access Google Sheets(docs.google.com/spreadsheets).

2. (If you do not have a CSV file, go to step 5.) If you have a CSV file, click File → Open → Upload → Choose file from device to upload the file as shown in the image below.

   

   

3. The file will open as shown below.

   

4. In the first row, fill in the fields Word (W), Meaning (M), Pronunciation (P), Description (D), Bookmark (B), Created Time (C), and enter data corresponding to each column.

   <aside> 🐱 If you do not specify data in the first row as shown below, the app will not recognize it, so you must put it in!

   </aside>

   • Words (W) / Required / Words without corresponding values are not added.
   • Meaning (M) / Required / Words without corresponding values are not added.
   • Pronunciation (P) / Optional /
   • Description (D) / Optional /
   • Bookmark (B) / Optional / -1(unfamiliar word), 0(unmarked), 1 (familiar word)
   • Creation date (C) / Optional / Enter in the format yyyy.MM.dd hh:mm:ss. If there is a creation date, it is displayed on the calendar.

   

   • The order in which the fields are placed and the case of the fields are irrelevant.
   • Fields with no data can be omitted as shown below.

   

5. When you're done editing, choose File → Downloads → Comma-separated values (.csv, current sheet) to save as CSV.

   

# How to import CSV into app

1. Please transfer the CSV file to your mobile phone through various methods such as mail, usb, AirDrop, etc.
2. Press Settings → CSV Export & Import → Import CSV button in the app.
3. When the Files app opens, select the CSV file.
